Geo-blocking by country or region

Block or flag traffic from specific countries or entire regions.

What is geo-blocking?

Geo-blocking allows you to restrict access based on the visitor's geographic location. This is useful for:

  • Stores that only ship to certain countries
  • Compliance with regional regulations
  • Reducing fraud from high-risk regions

Region-based blocking

Our plugins support blocking by region — no need to select countries one by one:

Configuring in plugins

Shopify

Open Shopify Admin → Apps → Predax → Settings. Configure country restrictions in the geo-blocking section.

Important notes

  • Geo-blocking uses the IP's geolocation, which is ~95–99% accurate at the country level
  • VPN users may appear to be in a different country — combine geo-blocking with VPN detection
  • Consider using tag mode first to see which legitimate customers would be affected
