Plugins
Geo-blocking by country or region
Block or flag traffic from specific countries or entire regions.
What is geo-blocking?
Geo-blocking allows you to restrict access based on the visitor's geographic location. This is useful for:
- Stores that only ship to certain countries
- Compliance with regional regulations
- Reducing fraud from high-risk regions
Region-based blocking
Our plugins support blocking by region — no need to select countries one by one:
| Region | Countries |
|---|---|
| Europe | 42 countries (EU, EEA, Balkans, etc.) |
| North America | US, CA, MX + territories |
| Caribbean | 26 island nations/territories |
| Latin America | South + Central America |
| East & Southeast Asia | China, Japan, Korea, ASEAN, etc. |
| South & Central Asia | India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Central Asian states |
| Oceania | Australia, NZ, Pacific Islands |
| Middle East | 18 countries |
| North Africa | 9 countries |
| West Africa | 16 countries |
| East Africa | 19 countries |
| Central Africa | 8 countries |
| Southern Africa | 6 countries |
| Russia & CIS | Russia, Moldova |

- All of Asia — East/Southeast + South/Central Asia
- All of Americas — North America + Caribbean + Latin America
Configuring in plugins
WordPress
Go to Predax Security → Settings and scroll to the "Geo Restrictions" section. Select regions or individual countries to block.
WooCommerce
Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Predax tab. Under "Country Restrictions", select the regions you want to block from checkout.
Shopify
Open Shopify Admin → Apps → Predax → Settings. Configure country restrictions in the geo-blocking section.
Important notes
- Geo-blocking uses the IP's geolocation, which is ~95–99% accurate at the country level
- VPN users may appear to be in a different country — combine geo-blocking with VPN detection
- Consider using tag mode first to see which legitimate customers would be affected
