About Predax
Most IP blocking is worse than no IP blocking.
Block by country and you lose the customer travelling for work. Buy a cheap threat feed and you inherit entries that stopped being true years ago. Trust a vendor's accuracy table and you are trusting a benchmark they built themselves. Predax exists because the tooling in this space is confidently wrong far more often than it admits.
The false positive nobody counts
A blocked attacker is invisible — you never hear from them, and the dashboard logs a win. A blocked customer is also invisible, because they do not email to say your checkout rejected them. They just leave. One of those numbers gets reported in security tooling and the other almost never does, which is how a product can look like it is working while quietly costing money.
That asymmetry is the thing Predax is built around. Every detection returns a score and the reasoning behind it rather than a verdict, because a datacenter IP on a login page and the same IP on a checkout are not the same decision. You decide the threshold; we try to make sure you are deciding with accurate information.
Three things we do differently
We publish the numbers that make us look worse
Our writing on false positives uses our own measurements, including the cases we get wrong. Residential proxies are genuinely hard to detect and we say so, on the product pages as well as the blog.
We will not print an accuracy table
The detection-rate percentages that circulate in this industry rarely trace back to a measurable method. A single accuracy figure for residential proxy detection is a benchmark the vendor built themselves, and we are not going to quote one at you.
Our comparison pages admit where we lose
We are a newer entrant against companies with twenty years of history, and our side-by-side pages say that in as many words. If a competitor is the better fit for what you need, it is cheaper for both of us if you find that out before you integrate.
