Recommended starter settings

The setup-wizard presets and what each one turns on.

The Setup Wizard offers three presets so you do not have to configure everything by hand. You can change any setting afterwards.

The presets

  • Recommended — a balanced setup for most sites: blocks proxies and Tor, monitors VPNs, login + registration protection on. A good starting point if you are unsure.
  • Strict — tighter blocking (stricter risk threshold, more areas screened). Best for sites under active abuse, but review your traffic for false positives.
  • Monitor — logs everything and blocks nothing. Use this to watch what *would* be blocked before you commit.

If you are unsure

Pick Recommended, then revisit two things:

  1. Detection Modes — switch VPN to Block if you want VPN visitors blocked (it starts on Monitor).
  2. Risk Threshold — leave on Recommended (50) unless you see too much or too little blocking.

Want full coverage of normal page visits? Turn on Visitor Screening — see Choose what to protect.
